Help protect Saskatchewan’s grasslands

Help protect Saskatchewan’s grasslands and the plants and animals they sustain. With your support, NCC will raise $9 million by 2020 to conserve an additional 5,665 hectares (14,000 acres) of Saskatchewan’s at risk grasslands.

Grasslands are one of the rarest and most at risk ecosystems in the world and are a critical part of Saskatchewan. They buffer our water, sequester and store carbon, and for thousands of years have provided sustenance for humans. Conserving grasslands is one of the most important things we can do for our future.

Over the past 25 years, Saskatchewan has lost more than 2 million acres (809,000 hectares) of native grassland and now less than 21 percent of native grassland remains in our province. With your help, we can protect what’s left of this important, working landscape. Not only for nature but for our own livelihoods, those of our ranching partners and the livelihoods of future generations.
